Johann signs to 4AD
Johann Johannsson has signed to the label 4AD. His first record for the label will be his music for the piece IBM 1401, a User's Manual. Johann has been performing this music over the last 3 years with the dancer/choreographer Erna Omarsdottir all over Europe.
The record will be an expanded version of IBM 1401 - A User's Manual. The score - rewritten for 60 piece string orchestra - was recorded at the legendary Smecky studios in Prague in late 2005. It will be released in the Spring of 2006.
Johann has recently been busy at work on the soundtrack to the film Blodbond, by Arni Oli Asgeirsson which will be out in early 2006, as well as preparing for concerts in November, which will among other things include a new collaboration with the legendary Can drummer Jaki Liebezeit.
