Currently only available in Iceland and the internet, Jóhann's album Dís is based on music written for the film of the same (the first film by Icelandic director Silja Hauksdottir.) Like the album Englabörn, which was based on music originally written for the theater, Dís elaborates and expands on themes used in the film. For the recording, Jóhann asked members of the bands Funerals, Singapore Sling, Slowblow and Trabant, to join him, as well as experimental guitarist and fellow Kitchen Motors founder Hilmar Jensson and the vocalist Ragnheidur Grondal, one of Iceland's best loved singers.
